For this logo, the client and art director had already agreed on the concept: a stream winding through a landscape, forming the 'W' in the company's name. This was a rather straight-forward job, since they had such a clear vision: something with a handcrafted, old-world feel. After a few quick rounds of sketches, the job was done!
Okay! So once we agreed on a basic shape for the "W" in a landscape, I sent a few quick sketches of how the scratchboard could be treated...
The grassy version seemed to be the least distracting, so we went with that! Here's the final:
